How to Choose and Use the Right Needle
You only need two needles to needle felt, but knowing which one to use and when makes a real difference. Here's how to work with both.

The barbs near the tip catch and tangle wool fibers with every stab — the more evenly you work, the denser and firmer it gets.

Tip: If you notice small holes in your finished piece, you may be using too thick a needle for the final stage — switch to your yellow needle to refine the surface.

Needle Holders
If you'd like to work faster, a multi-needle holder lets you felt with multiple needles at once — great for building volume more quickly. We offer single, triple, and 5-needle holders in our Tools & Refills section.
Pro tip: Before using your needle, wipe it with an alcohol pad. It removes rust, helps the wool felt faster, and keeps things clean — especially handy if you accidentally poke yourself.
